Birdwatching – Itanhaém

In the municipality of Itanhaém is located the largest dormitory of parrot (Amazona brasiliensis) further to the north of the country, about 300 species of birds are found in the survey carried out by the Mochileiros team, more than a third of all those occurring in the Atlantic Forest! The Itanhaém region it can be found other species like woodpeckers (Campephilus robustus), “Macuru-de-barriga-castanha” (Notharchus swainsoni), “Caburé” (Glaucidium brasilianum), among others.
Several species of multicolored “saíras”, toucans, hummingbirds, “sucuruás”, “choquinhas”, sandpipers, “saracuras”, among others, are easily observed.
